7 Tips to have a Stress-Free First Year Registration Procedures

As we all know that the first year for every student is always the most stressful of all most especially if you are in a government owned institution. If you are a recently admitted student and you are reading this, firstly I congratulate you and I would also love to prepare you for the hectic registration procedures. My registration as a fresh student took me more time than necessary not because of finances but because of my inability to be fully prepared but to help you avoid stress and worries, I have prepared this post from what I learnt during my First Year registration. Here are my 7 tips to help you have a stress free registrations:
  1. Prepare all the necessary documents
You don't want to be in the mid of your registration and find that you are lacking a particular document, this happens a lot during registration, some won't have their birth certificate. So in order to have the necessary documents always read the instructions your school would provide before you go for registrations, documents like Original WAEC results, Borth Certificate, State of origin proof,  Passports e.t.c
Never forget to take more than needed passports, they don't even expire.

    2. Have the duplicates of your documents.
Always have at least 3 duplicates of all your personal documents even when you might think you don,t need them, this would help you avoiding to rush in doing photocopies and also you would be needed to submit different copies at different point of registrations.

   3. Have Extra Cash with you.
One of the annoying part of my registration was when I ran out of cash,  the cash that I taught was more than enough, I took the cash without really calculating or budgeting, So friends this is where the use of Economics comes in, I would recommend that you plan properly and always have that fast access to money.

    4. Never over prepare.
I know this might be hard for many because of the excitement of being admitted, during my registration I was so excited that before I traveled to my school, I made many duplicates of the schools documents that I downloaded online without even getting to the school but let me let you know that most of those duplicates that I made ended up in the bin because the documents needed to be signed before I was supposed to make duplicates.
N.B: Your personal documents are different from the documents the school would provide.

    5. Don't Skip Procedures.
Never skip any aspect of your registration even if it might be so stressful or you encountered any problem, try to be cleared at every point necessary because if you skip any procedure it might jump on you later and you don't want to lose your admission or standing later because of something small.

     6. Be Social.

Even if you might not know anyone try to make friends because they would be useful to you during registration. At every different location be open to discussions because you don't know it all.
you can share this post to others on your social media platforms.

    6. Ask Questions.

Don't be shy when you don't understand things or having problems with them, ask anyone you think can help, don't keep questions to yourself . You can start now by asking me any question you have by posting a comment.
That's all I think of for now, if I have anything else I would make sure I post it. Follow us Facebook, Twitter and subscribe to our newsletter via mail to get our latest posts.
