The Nigerian Communication Commission and the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB have collaborated to establish a 500 seater Computer Based Test (CBT) centre at the Aminu Saleh College of Education Azare, Bauchi State.
The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, performed the foundation laying ceremony of the centre recently.
Mallam Adamu Adamu praised JAMB and NCC for the establishment of CBT centres across the country.
Represented
by Professor Saminu Ibrahim the Vice-Chancellor, Abubakar Tafawa
Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Adamu said JAMB and NCC have created a
synergy to carry out the presidential directive for the establishment of
the centres to help candidates write JAMB tests.
He
said the establishment of the centres encouraged access to
technology-based tests adding that JAMB's innovations have saved a lot
of resources for government.
Also
speaking at the ceremony the JAMB registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyode the
board is ready to ready to fully transit from the traditional form of
conducting tests for candidates to computer-based tests .
