The Orlu Catholic Diocese in Imo State
has said that they are planning to establish a new university at Awo Omamma
in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State.
This was disclosed by the Bishop of the Diocese, Rev.
Augustine Ukwuoma through a meeting he had with Journalists.
The foundation laying ceremony is sheduled to hold Friday December 1. The Bishop claimed that the University would be named Trinitas University
Bishop Ukwuma said their move was borne out of a need to instill morality values
among youths through a sound education system and that the diocese took such a bold
step in absolute obedience to the mandate by Jesus Christ “to teach all
nations and the present need in the society where millions of
candidates yearly seek admission into the few universities in the
country”.
He told the Journalists that one of the major
reasons for establishing Trinitas University was to train young
graduates who can think critically and stand on their own.
