The founder of the Oduduwa
University, Ile-Ife, Dr. Ramon Adedoyin, has given a strict warning stating that his university
is not for sale as it was recently advertised by three companies.
Dr. Adedoyin, lamented that three companies had through the Internet
offered the OUI for sale at the costs of N30bn and N10bn, respectively.
Based on the addresses supplied in the
advert, there is an indication that the companies, namely Hillcrown
Investments Limited, Best Consult Limited and De-Batuns, are located in
Lagos.
.
Adedoyin said, “Some criminals have
offered OUI for sale via the Internet. Anybody who engages in a
transaction with the them does so at his or her own.
“On our part, we set the people up and
they went into hiding. But when a foreigner telephone number called,
they answered the phone. They ask you to apply. When you apply, they
invite you. Afterwards, they hide. But the numbers are functioning.
“As a university, within eight years, we
have been able to beat many Nigerian universities in terms of
accreditation and facilities. We are currently going into law and
medicine. We have five colleges – Natural and Applied Sciences,
Environmental Designs and Management, Technology, Management science and
recently, College of Post Graduate Studies.
“The university is not for sale and it will never be auctioned for sale.”
