The best graduating student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Chinelo Okafor from the department of Medical Rehabilitation and the Faculty of Health Science received a total of Twenty-Six thousand Naira from her school as a reward of her excellence.

Okafor received twenty thousand Naira as the best graduating student from her Faculty.

She also received Five thousand Naira as the best graduating student of the department of Medical Rehabilitation and a thousand Naira from one Prof. P.O Ebigbo for emerging as the best graduating student of Faculty of Health Sciences and Technology.

Reacting to the cash prize, which many considered absurd, Nigerians on Twitter strongly criticised the university for rewarding hard work with peanuts.

While many are venting their anger on the issue, Okafor took to Facebook on Friday, December 1, to announce that an employee of a company who saw the story about her university award and prize decided to compensate her with N100,000.

This reward has had a bad response from many Nigerians, what do you think.
