36 Students of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Imo State, were reportedly arrested for being suspects of killing a member of the National Youth Service Corps, known as Justice.
The deceased is a graduate of the institution who was serving in Cross River State, he was murdered at the Polytechnic junction last Saturday.
The Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Chris Ezike, while we was speaking to journalists in the State Capital on Monday claimed that, apart from arresting the prime suspects, the command had carried out a raid at the scene of the crime, which led to the arrest of the 36 students.
Mr Ejike also noted that the investigation conducted by the command showed that the killing was cult-related. He said the raid and arrests were necessary to prevent any reprisal from a rival cult group.
