Words really cannot give the measures of hardship that students of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE ), Ekiti State , face on the lamentable major Road which connects all parts of the university.
The dust that are always given off by this road is concerning as pedestrians and motorists are forced to cover their noses as the pass through.
As sad as it might sound, the state of the road is not new but has kept on getting worsen as time passes.
The School's management had seem to turned deaf ears to all the complaints of staff and students of the institution.
A student, Bayo described the state of the road as as insensitive to the plight of students.
“This road has become a death trap because of its dust and I always get stained passing through this route. It won’t cost the school a lot of money to work on this road, at least to reduce the sufferings of the students. How does one get to settle in class after the hurdles of getting to school through this bad road?,” he asked.
Another Student, Ayobami said,"Everytime I pass this road I feel self pity for myself, just imagine look at the state of one of the most expensive Federal University. I just hope the School does something".
Many motorists have stopped transporting students into the School because of the state of the road.
We hope the School's management does something about this road.
