Polytechnic Shuts Down Following Students Protest On Payment Of Lecturers Allownace.

The Akanu Ibiam Polytechnic, Unwana, Ebonyi State has been reportedly shut down after a protest by the students of the Polytechnic over the non-payment of their Lecturers allownaces.

According to New Telegraph, the management and members of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) have been in disagreement over the non-payment of ASUP’s special allowance identified and the students have gone in favour of the Lecturers but their actions have led to the closure of the school.
