UNILAG New Registrar Resumes August 1

 The Governing Council of the University of Lagos, UNILAG, has appointed Mr Ismaila Oladejo Azeez as the new Registrar and Secretary to Council.

Azeez, a law graduate and member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, NIM and Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, has served as the Deputy College Secretary (General Administration) at the College of Medicine, UNILAG (2009-2012) and he is the current College Secretary/Director of Administration since 2012 .

He is a seasoned University Administrator, a Barrister-at-Law and a Public Relations professional.

Born on August 20, 1962, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication in 1987, graduating in the Second Class Upper Division, a Master of Science degree in Mass Communication, graduating with Distinction in 1992. Mr. Azeez also obtained a Bachelor of Law degree in year 2000, all from the University of Lagos.

After passing the final examinations conducted by the Council of Legal Examination at the Nigeria Law School, Abuja, he was called to the Nigerian Bar by the Body of Benchers and was licensed to practice as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme  Court of Nigeria in 2002. Thereafter, in 2005, he proceeded to the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, where he obtained a Master of Law degree.

He joined the  services of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL) in 1991 as an Administrative Officer Grade I. He was promoted as Assistant Secretary in 1994, Senior Assistant Secretary in 1997 and Principal Assistant Secretary in 2002 . He became the Deputy College Secretary (General Administration) in 2009 and in 2012, by the appointment of the Court of Governors; he became College Secretary and Director of Administration, overseeing the various Units in the Administrative Department of the College of Medicine. This distinguished seasoned Administrator will on August 1, resume work at UNILAG.
