The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti (ADO POLY) management has asked students to pay N20,000 reparation fee for the properties vandalized during a riot that engulfed the school last month.
The reparation fee of N20,000 has been charged to each student of the Federal Polytechnic, in order for all activity to return to normal.
The Polytechnic was closed last month following different riot by students that led to the death of a student Oluwafemi Vincent Taiwo, who passed away at the school’s Health Centre.
The riots led to the destruction of the school’s Health Centre, different vehicles were also damaged and the rioters went as far as to steal eggs from the School's Poultry.
This led to the school's management setting a disciplinary panel to investigate the cause of the riots.
The Panel decided that all Students should must be made to pay a total fee of ₦40,000 to ₦50,000, after the intervention of National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) and National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) who pleaded on behalf of the students, the school then decided to official ask for a fee of ₦20,000 form each student.
