Through a statement issued by
the Acting Director of Information and Corporate Affairs, Ajibade Olubunmi
says that the Vice Chancellor has directed old students who are
currently on second-semester break to keep away from campus and stay
away from helping the new entrants.
The Vice-Chancellor further warned the old students not to decieve the new students by pretending to help them.
"No
old students should harbour newly admitted students in their hostels,
aid them in payment of fees or provide accommodation for new students
under any pretence" the statement continues.
He said that security agents have been instructed to
patrol both the campus and hostels situated in the adjoining
communities to apprehend those violating this directive.
The VC also reminded the students of the penalty for participating in cult activities.
"Death
sentence is the penalty for those found guilty of belonging to
cultists’ groups in Ekiti State including Ekiti State University." The
statement reads.
Reacting to the VC's
directive, a graduate of the university said the warning is important
because cult members take advantage of fresh students' naivety to
introduce to cultism and other vices
