7 Effective Steps To Studying Better

Have you ever wondered what sets apart the successful students from unsuccessful ones? Why some students study most of the time and do it well? You might think that their IQ level might be responsible or their genetics.
But I want to let you know that study habits and practices is always the key for a successful student.
Study habits includes time management, self-discipline, organization, dedication, effort, desire to succeed and so on.
In order to help you study effectively and smartly, I have prepared the following tips;

1. Know Your Learning Pattern
The first step in developing an effective study habit is to know what your pattern of learning is, every student has different pattern of learning and understanding, discover and monitor your own.

2. Set Your Goals.
Write down what you want to achieve on a particular course (where you can easily find them).
Ask yourself while you have set your goals, "Is this what I really want to be doing"?

3. Organise Your Time
Organize your study time,  keep daily or weekly schedule reminders.
Don't let social activities affect your study time. If you have to be social don't let it be at the expense of your studies.
When unexpected events arise that take up the time you had planned to study with, quickly find time to make up for your missed study time.

4. Never Procrastinate
Like it is said "Procrastination is a thief of time", don't postpone what you have to do at a particular time for another time.
According to Alan Lakein who said when we are avoiding something, let's break it into smaller tasks and do just one of the smaller tasks for maybe 15 minutes. By doing a little at a time, eventually you will reach a point when you will desire to finish what you started.

5. Keep a healthy and balanced body and mind
One of the hardest things to do on in Lifeis to live  balanced life, I know that. Many people have claimed that it's not possible to live a balanced life on campus. But the more balance you want your life to be, the easier it is for you.
I am not asking you to live like a robot but if you spend all your time focusing on, for instance a relationship, you would then see how easily you can be so unbalanced,  the things you are not focusing on well becomes very hard for you.
Eat good (healthy) food, spend time with friends, get in touch with your family and have fun but always remember your studies should be prioritize and shouldn't be competing with other activities.

6. Where you study matters.
A lot of people are fond of making the mistake of studying in environments that are not conducive to their learning pattern and what this does is to distract them from studying.
Visit the Library often, make sure you select the most conducive environment to study and don't be one of the people that would decive their self by studying in a noisy environment and make sure you ain't distracted by anything (e.g Phones, Friends e.t.c), keep they would distract you stay away from them.

7. Have the desire to study
Like I said earlier, the desire to study is a very important factor if you want to succeed. Show interest in what you are doing and have it on your mind that anything (Course or Subject or Book e.t.c.) that you might find yourself doing is worth doing well, attend classes not just because of maybe the lecturer or maybe because of your CA but because you want to gain knowledge and also learn. Do your assignments and be always prepared.

8. Rest
Set aside time to rest and have fun..
