About 15,000 candidates will vie for 4,000 admission slots as the Federal University of Technology, Akure begins its Post-UTME admission screening exercise for the 2018/2019 Academic Session.
The venue of the exercise, which is scheduled to take place between Monday, August 6 and Thursday, August 9, 2018, is the institution’s Digital Resource Centre.
The Chairman of FUTA Admissions Committee and Deputy Vice-Chancellor [Academic], Prof. Olatunde Arayela, said that more than 20,000 candidates chose FUTA as their university of first choice, while a total of 13,560 candidates scored the required minimum score of 180 to qualify for the screening.
Arayela also said that about 2,000 candidates changed from other institutions to FUTA after their UTME Examination.
While urging the candidates for the screening and their guardians to obey all the rules and regulations guiding the exercise, he gave them the assurance that the selection process would be strictly based on merit.
“We are set for the screening exercise. We have made adequate arrangement and by the Grace of God everything will run smoothly as in the previous years. As an institution, we have established a tradition of excellence and merit in FUTA and this will guide the final selection of candidates who will ultimately secure admission into any of our 43 academic programmes,” Arayela said.
